Day 03: Giza Pyramids

After another amazing breakfast, perhaps overlooking the inviting pool, depart for the Giza plateau itself,  with its galaxy of pyramids.

The Great Pyramid alone contains 2.5 million blocks of stone and measures 146 meters high.  The mathematical anomalies of this building, the alignments of exacting proportions, make this monument one of the greatest riddles of both the ancient and modern age. Khafra’s pyramid measures 143.5 meters high.  This pyramid still retains a portion of its outer casing stones, giving you an idea of how most of the pyramids looked when first built.  “The Divine Pyramid” at 65.5 meters high, is the smallest of the three.  How these stone monuments mirror the stars in Orion’s Belt perfectly is another mystery you can ponder as you stroll down to see another marvel of the ancient world: The awe-inspiring Sphinx. (Breakfast)

Day 04: Cairo / Luxor / Luxor & Karnak temples:

This morning we depart to Cairo airport for our short flight to Luxor, in the South of Egypt, where Queen Cleopatra visited on her grand Tour with Caesar.  Upon arrival, you’ll be whisked off to your deluxe Nile cruise!

In the afternoon venture out to witness the vast power of Karnak temple, the largest temple complex in the world.  Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile was partially filmed here, too!  If you like, enjoy an optional tour in the evening to the Temple of Luxor floodlit at night, seeing the marvelous Avenue of the Sphinxes lit up as you walk the path that still echoes with the footsteps of Cleopatra and the Pharaohs! Overnight in Luxor. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
